[News] Minecraft Story Mode Gameplay Unveiled at Twitchcon

Over in San Francisco for the last weekend of September, the first ever Twitchcon’s been going on, celebrating all the things that make the Twitch game streaming service community great. One of the coolest things at Twitchcon for Minecraft fans was the main stage livestream showing a demo of the highly anticipated upcoming game from TellTale Games, Minecraft: Story Mode.

If you’ve read our other articles about this cool new game, you’ll be excited to see this new gameplay, something we’ve never seen before. It’s great to see the classic Minecraft style throughout the game, but with a super cool TellTale Games twist to it. I can’t wait to try out those battle sequences, which is totally unique from Minecraft and looks like a lot of fun.

Minecraft: Story Mode is an adventure game, set in the Minecraft universe, so everything in it will look just like Minecraft. It’s coming out on pretty much all gaming platforms, including iOS and Android, much to Pocket Edition users’ delight. All your choices will change the story, like those cool adventure books, and the game is released in 5 episodes, much like a TV show, with each episode being around ~2 hours of gameplay. That’s 10 hours total.

Job Stauffer, one of the panellists in the demo, also finally announced the release date, saying the game premiers on October 15th when you’ll be able to buy and download the game online. Or, if you prefer a hard copy in disc format for your console of choice, then you’ll be able to purchase the game in-store on October 27th.
